When it first opened in 1967 in the hamlet of Campbellville, the Mohawk Inn was billed as the “first electric motel” in Ontario – an establishment with an early-Canadian colonial style and the comfort and convenience of all electric heating and cooling. Its objective was simple: to provide a restful atmosphere in which guests could relax and enjoy themselves.
For nearly five decades Mohawk Inn has been a favourite meeting place for locals and out-of-towners alike. A few things have changed over the years, but our mission remained the same – to maintain and enhance the Mohawk Inn’s reputation for top-notch hospitality.
Since coming under new ownership in 2012, the Inn and its adjoining Toronto West KOA campground have been refurbished, renovated and infused with a sense of modern comfort and community. The Mohawk was the host for yearly events and offered several attractive package getaways and clean, comfortable rooms. Mohawk Inn was both a gathering hub and a centrally located place to lay down a weary traveller’s head. The The Inn itself had recently changed inside and out with an eye to maintaining its rustic, cottage-like feel and the addition of an upscale-casual steak house and lounge. Likewise, the KOA grounds have had a complete makeover tailored to the young families of the local Milton area, GTA and beyond.
On December 15, 2019 we gathered to say goodbye to the Mohawk Inn & Conference Centre. For over 52 years we have been a hub for the community and travellers alike. We have decided to cease operations of the current facility, allowing to make way to build a more modern Hotel & Conference centre with upgraded amenities that are suitable for the needs of our growing community. We invite you to share your memories, stories and history of the Mohawk Inn. If you have a fond memory of an occasion or event share your story and pictures to our Facebook page: Memories of Mohawk
Thanks for the memories! We sincerely thank you for your support and patronage, and we look forward to serving you in the future.
